Underwater photography course introduces you to a new way of diving. You get to learn how to prepare and use the camera equipment underwater. The difference between land and underwater photography becomes clear once you learn about depth’s effect on colors. Color of the water makes a big difference as well as lighting conditions. Setting up a shot when you are not stationary and your target is either moving or very small is challenging. Our instructors help you to frame the best shots and teach you how to use strobes and video lights for best results.
Underwater you need to adjust white balance and exposure and learn about things such as back scatter and aperture. This course gets the best value out of your camera gear whether it’s a go-pro, compact camera or a full frame camera with or without a mirror. You learn the correct breathing techniques to stabilize yourself and position yourself so that the natural environment is not disturbed or damaged. You want to ensure that other people also have the chance to observe the marine life in their natural setup.
After the dives the post processing is also a major element in underwater photography. Sometimes you have not enough time to adjust your camera setting. That’s why for optimal results and this needs to be fixed on dry land. You get tips on using Photoshop, Gimp and Lightroom depending on your preferences. There are also apps that allow quick automated color correction with some limitations.

09:30 Classroom session for the theory and knowledge reviews and exam
12:00 Lunch depending on the location
13:00 Pool session to cover the scenarios you will be practicing in open water the next day
17:00 – 18:00 Finish the day and return to hotel
07:15 Pick Up from your hotel to Chalong Pier to meet your instructor
08:30 Depart from Chalong towards Racha Noi and Racha Yai
09:00 Breakfast and setup your equipment
09:30 Briefing with your instructor about the rescue scenarios and skill you will be practicing during the day
10:30 – 11:30 Arrive at the first dive site and perform the first rescue scenarios
12:00 – 13:00 Lunch
13:00 Second Dive and Rescue Scenarios
15:00 Third dive and rescue scenarios
16:00 Become a PADI Rescue Diver and depart to Chalong. Debriefing with your instructor.
17:30 Arrive at the Chalong Pier and transfer back to your hotel
